Wicknwax is a UK home based company formed in November 2000
All candles are Hand Poured using only the finest ingredients from the UK as well as overseas

You've probably come across this site because your like me and love scented candles, since I can remember I have loved trying different Candle scents, so 8 years ago I started to make candles myself, after many hours of testing and trying different waxes, additives and scents and wicks

All scents are tested for a good scent throw, if they don't smell we don't sell them!!, all scents are distributed throughout the candle, not just sprayed around the candle or on the wick!

We are best known for our highly scented candles, customers return time after time. We only use Soy or Paraffin Wax. Our Paraffin Wax is purified, refined, free of harmful substances and non-toxic

You may read of other candlemakers claiming Soy wax is soot free, no candle can be completely soot free

I wanted a candle company with candles that actually smelt all the way through, with more unusual scents than you can find in UK shops

None of the ingredients or fragrances we use are tested on animals
All my candles are highly scented using 100% concentrated candle scents, so you can enjoy a strong scent throw ,unlike machine made candles, All candles are tested to ensure a strong scent throw whilst burning not just in the wrapper. A whole 1oz of scent is used to every 1lb of wax
Our Candles are handpoured at the time of order, we do not carry stock because we want you to have a freshly poured candle everytime and I do not use Lead wicks

I can custom candles to your taste, if you wanted a specfic colour to match your decor, or you wanted a yellow Black Cherry candle, for example, then please email me with your requirements

All information given is strictly confidential and under no circumstances is it shared or passed on

You have 7 days in which to inform Wicknwax of any items you are not satisfied with or which are damaged, these must be returned unlit and in original packaging, return postage is not refundable, we will refund or exchange any candle you are not satisfied with (this does not include if you do not like your chosen scent)

Returns cannot be accepted outside of the UK

You may cancel any order within 24 hours of placing it, as long as it has not been despatched, if it has you will need to inform us within 7 days of receiving it as above.

~*~ Candle Safety ~*~

Keep your wicks trimmed, This is essential for a clean, smoke free burn

Many people complain about candles that smoke and this can be eliminated by trimming the wick to 1/4 inch every time you burn the candles

Candles over 2" in diameter
The first time you light your candle, trim the wick to 1/4 inch or 1cm burn it for 3-4 hours so that a large melt pool is formed, by doing this you will open up the wax and on subsequent lightings the candle will follow that path using most of the wax. If you only light this size candle for say 1 hour on the first burning, it will only burn a small core down the middle wasting a lot of your candle, then put the candle out preferably with a candle snuffer, candles that are blown out spray wax everywhere, and tend to make the candle go out of shape, the next time it is lit, trim wick and relite, retrim wick regulary to prevent a tall flame

Candles need to breathe, if you light in a small room, it is likely to smoke, please consider your room size when lighting your new candles

If a candle smokes, put out, trim wick and relight

Sometimes mushrooming will appear on votive wicks, this is a reminder to trim your wick

Never leave a burning candle unattended

Keep away from children and pets

Keep candles away from draughts when lit

Keep debris out of the melt pool

Votives should be lit for only 4 hours at a time, as the glass can get very hot

Leave the last 1/2 inch of the container candle, because of the potential of the flame touching the sides of the container or getting too near the bottom it is recommended that you stop burning the candle when it gets to the bottom.

Candles should be stored in ideally 60°f- 80°f to retain the candles shape and fragrance.

Please bear in mind that as these candles are all unique and handmade, they are not flawless, this adds to the uniqueness of the candles, unlike machine made candles, They may look shiny and flawless, but they don't smell!!

Always place candles well away from curtains, furniture and draughts

Always burn on a heat resistant surface and don't burn under shelves

Votive candles completely turn to liquid to release their fragrance, so must be burned in a suitable glass holder

Keep away from hair and clothing
